Rewrite brings together young people from different backgrounds to fight prejudice and injustice though drama and creative writing. Our core projects are: Creative ESOL - An after- school programme specifically for young migrants and refugees aged 11-16, to improve their English through drama. REACT - An out of school drama group for young people aged 13-17, who work together on drama projects and performances that explore the social, political and cultural issues they feel are important.
Why the community needs usOur work raises the aspirations and attainment of young people, supporting them to build positive futures. We also develop community cohesion through supporting the integration of newly arrived refugees and migrants.
Our impact on the communityWe are winners of the Capital Community Foundation's Award for outstanding work with young people and the Global Fund for Children's Rising Star Award. We have supported young people in gaining places at university and drama school.
