Over 100 volunteers provide services entirely free of charge. These services might include shopping on behalf of a client, driving them to and from medical appointments or to local community centres to meet with friends. Increasingly we have been asked to help set up with IT issues. We also offer a befriending service. We are happy to provide these services on a regular basis e.g. weekly or on a more ad hoc basis.
Why the community needs us
We reduce isolation for some of the elderly residents in Richmond by providing outings or companionship if housebound. Statutory services just don't have the time our volunteers give which amounts to around 7000 hours per hear.
Our impact on the community
Whether we drop off a treat with a client such as our Easter gift bags which lets isolated residents know someone is thinking about them, or host an event such as a Silver Sunday tea, our volunteers make a real difference.
We run a monthly tea at the Cambrian Centre which is open to our registered clients and other members of the local community who might otherwise not get to lectures or musical performances.
