ROSEHILL is a local theatre of national significance based in West Cumbria.

Rosehill provides opportunities for people of all ages to take part in and enjoy the performing arts in community venues around Copeland and Allerdale.

With the reopening of our historic theatre featuring a contemporary shell with all mod-cons, including improved accessibility, Rosehill is a first-class venue for all West Cumbria. We have only got to this point with the support of hundreds of generous donations - and there is more to be done.

Why the community needs us
Participation in and enjoyment of the arts brings benefits throughout people's lives. From learning to innovating, health and well-being and enterprise. The arts improve places and the lives of the people that live in them.

Just ten people making a gift of £10 a month would make it possible to work with 120 young people, introducing them to and getting them involved in music and drama like the recent Snappy Operas and School Sings projects. Twenty people giving £20 would support another apprenticeship.

Our impact on the community
While Rosehill has been redeveloped in recent years, we have continued to stage events around Copeland and Allerdale. We engage with thousands of people through quality arts events each year, and intend to increase this even further in the years ahead.

We want to build on this work during the next 12 months by not only bringing more audiences to Rosehill but also presenting a greater number of outreach activities for the benefit of our wider community on their own doorstep. We can only do this through continued donations.

Volunteers needed

Volunteers are essential to the effective running of Rosehill, including volunteers to help with bars and catering, box office, cleaning and gardening, ushering, administration and support, technical services and support, leaflet and flyer distribution & fundraising.
