Men Up

Initially, we are looking to develop a number of Men Up groups across South Wales to support men within a peer network providing understanding and support. The groups will then support individuals and the group as a whole with skills, strategies and coping techniques to beat their anxieties, negative thinking and depression.

Why they need our service

Each week 84 men commit suicide - this the biggest killer of men under 50. Stereotypically men are difficult to reach and engage with regarding their mental ill-health. Having a space where men can support men that is non-judgemental and supportive will help.

Plan and expected results

Initially, once a month we will provide a space free of charge with time and resources for men to support men, by April 2020 we are looking to have at least 12 groups across South Wales providing the vital support need to men experiencing mental ill-health and suicidal thoughts.
