We raise funds all year round for an annual trip to Disneyland Paris for children who live in Peterborough who are disabled or have lifetime illnesses. For the first trip in 1997, we sent 10 special children to Lapland to see Father Christmas on what was expected to be a one-off trip. But we were not prepared for the overwhelming response from the people of the city and have continuing ever since - but we now visit Disneyland Paris instead.
Why the community needs usWe are a great benefit to many families in Peterborough, providing a magical annual trip for hundreds of children over the last 15 years - many of whom may not have been on holiday before. We pride ourselves that we do not take any money out of the fund for administration costs, such as postage, petrol and expenses. Every penny raised goes towards Rudolf.
Our impact on the communitySo far, 430 special children have benefited from our fund and, up to 2011, we have raised more than £328,560. However, we are in desperate need of extra funding. Unless more can be found, we may be forced to call it a day at the end of this year. We are determined, though, for this not to happen and are actively seeking more support. Any help you can give will help The Rudolf Fund to survive and we - and the children of the city we support - will be eternally grateful.
