Reading | Community Support & Development
Reading Voluntary Action promotes strength within Reading's voluntary and community sector (VCS) by providing information, access to resources, volunteer recruitment and training to people who work in or with charities, community groups and voluntary organisations. We support voluntary sector representation on cross sector partnership initiatives in Reading.
Why the community needs usReading Voluntary Action provides services to both individuals and community groups/charities. Individuals are supported to engage with their community, through volunteering or involvement in developing public services. Groups receive advice, training and support to raise funds. They are also give a route to ensure their views are represented to local decision makers.
Our impact on the communityOur work ensures: Community groups can access free advice and support. Groups are kept informed on the latest developments in the voluntary and community sector. Funding advice brings investment into the local area. Volunteers can be matched with worthwhile and fulfilling opportunities. Groups and individuals are provided a 'Voice' to input in to Local Authority and NHS decision making.
