Safe Haven Basketball offers high quality basketball coaching weekly across London in 4 venues on 4 days per week to young people 14+ with learning disabilities. We encourage players of all abilities to join and work with each individual at their level to ensure that they have a positive and enjoyable experience which brings them back for more and produces great results such as improved fitness, improved self-confidence and self-esteem and a great group of friends to share these experiences with.
Our families and members form a hugely enthusiastic and supportive network and are great advocates for our club. Many of our members enjoy competing, and we work to ensure that they are able to compete at their own level both locally and in regional competitions, to expand horizons and add an additional dimension to the weekly training. We support our community of members and their families, support workers and volunteers and coaches to engage socially across our London venues by ensuring that we hold events for all of our members at which they can meet those from other areas of London, explore unfamiliar areas and gain confidence to expand their horizons. We work in sports halls to ensure that our members become confident and familiar with using these, while the venues become familiar with our members, so that they do not feel excluded from community sports facilities. We are ambitious for all our members to follow their basketball dreams, and endeavour to make this possible.
