SANAS' purpose is to provide activies to enhance the quality of life for the local community and strive to build a strong united community in and around Slough. Our aims are to support local nationals and the wider community by: improving health and well-being; bringing families and communities together; developing community partnerships and managing a community cafe
Why the community needs usSANAS benefits the community by offering facilities and activities which bring communities together. Our heritage is St Kitts & Nevis in the West Indies, but we are delighted that people from all nationalities enjoy our events and activities and also learn about our culture.
Our impact on the communityHundreds of people in the local community across all generations have benefitted as a direct result of our activities. In the last year we have hosted 2 health seminars, 20 community cook-ups, 6 children's activity clubs and more recently have started a senior citizens lunch club - helping to combat loneliness and isolation. Although we are a small charity we offer vital support, which provides a lifeline to the most vulnerable people in our society.
Volunteers are required for all aspects of SANAS work, including support at events, expertise on sub-committees (Communications, Events and Hospitality). Any offer of help is appreciated.
