The organisation is set up to identify and support young carers (children/young people whose health, education and social lives are affected as a result of caring for dependent family members).
Why the community needs usYoung carers are a huge benefit to the community in which they live, providing care to their dependent family member, often through giving of medication, provide personal hygiene care, carry out domicillary care, household chores, emotional support and family responsibilities. Carers save the economy 57 billion pounds by providing unpaid care.
Our impact on the communityProviding young carers with opportunities to take time out from caring, build on their confidence, self esteem and social skills, will enable them to make informed and positive choices about their future. Thus reducing stress and anxiety levels, improving their well-being and decreasing the chances of them becoming the cared for later in life.
