Our vision is that everybody shares. Sharing things strengthens communities by bringing people together and generating warmth between neighbours. It makes things accessible for everyone. It reduces the amount of items you store in your home. It means that things get worn out rather than thrown away after little use.

Share Bristol opened Bristol's first Library of Things in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire in May 2021. It is a place where you can donate things and volunteer, and things can be repaired rather than end up in landfill. But above all, our community hub provides a warm and welcoming place where people can come to borrow things with confidence, at ultra-low cost, without the hassle or embarrassment of asking to borrow things from other people and with the reassurance of insurance. This is better for our planet, our wallets and our homes.
Share Bristol Bedminster opened in May 2024 and Share Bristol Frenchay in January 2025, but we want to open a network of Libraries of Things across Bristol, making it easier to borrow and repair the things people need to live their lives. Whether it is a drill for a DIY project, a tent for a low cost family holiday or a chocolate fountain for a party - we want it to be accessible for all and meet the needs of the local community.
