Sketty Foodbank provides emergency food, essential toiletries and baby items to individuals and families in serious need in the City of Swansea, some of whom are very vulnerable. This includes a large proportion of asylum seekers and refugees, the numbers of which is continuing to grow significantly.
You can help us too!
By donating food, cash or volunteering your time, every little bit helps us to help the local people/families in crisis in Swansea. It is only through your generosity that we are able to provide this emergency food support. We are a small independent foodbank and a registered charity. ALL donations (in cash or in kind) go directly to helping local people in crisis. We do not use donations for administrative or charity membership costs and all our volunteers give their time for free.
What do we do?
We provide food parcels to many who are referred to us by social workers, housing benefit officers, probation officers, educational welfare officers, asylum seeker agencies, councilors and others. People who have come to our door who have found themselves in challenging circumstances are also welcomed. Some food parcels are delivered to the recipients. No-one in need goes away empty handed.
Sadly, since this time last year, we have fed on average over 400 people a month. But while there continues to be people who need our support, we will do everything we can to help them.
