Slough Mencap exists to enrich the lifes of people of learning disabilities and their families.
Slough Mencap promotes the welfare of people with learning disabilities and encourage a spirit of understanding and social inclusion. We press for better facilities for people with learning disabilities in the fields of education, employment, residence and general welfare. Slough Mencap co-operates with authorities in their efforts to further implement aims above. We organize number of events, for more information see our project page.
Why the community needs usSlough Mencap gives it's members the CONFIDENCE and PRACTICAL HELP they need to live their lives to the full, and provide respite for their carers. We RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT LEARNING DISABILITIES in the Slough region and encourage a spirit of understanding and inclusiveness among local people. We provide an opportunity for members and their carers to meet and give MUTUAL SUPPORT to one another. Slough Mencap works with partner orgs to provide BETTER SERVICES for people with learning disabilities.
