Southey Wolves FC provides a safe and secure environment for children, from 8 to 18 years of age, to play football in a structured manner. The club was established in 2010 and has grown from strength to strength. The club now runs a total of 8 teams. We aim to help children (and volunteers) build their own self esteem and to know and value the importance of team work.
Why the community needs us
The children who play for our club come from a wide variety of social, economic, religious and ethnic backgrounds. They attend a number of diverse schools and other educational facilities in the local area. All levels of sporting ability are found in the club but each child is encouraged to be the best they can, both on and off the pitch. This melting pot can only help to promote a more understanding and tolerant community for the benefit of all.
Our impact on the community
The club has around 90 children within the 8 teams which we currently run. It is our aim to increase that number on a yearly basis until we have a minimum of 11 teams, with approximately 140 children in total, playing competitive football. In addition there will be a team of around 25 adult volunteers, giving their time and energy to make Southey Wolves a well run and respected football club in South Yorkshire.
