Sheffield Climate Alliance

We are an alliance of organisations across South Yorkshire, campaigning for climate action

Sheffield Climate Alliance is a network of local organisations and individuals who are pressing for effective action to tackle climate change. Local campaign groups, trade unions, faith groups and student and community groups are all part of the alliance. By acting together through the Sheffield Climate Alliance, we can have a stronger voice and achieve greater impact.

Why the community needs us
2015 was the hottest year globally and this increase in global temperature means more extreme weather, floods and droughts. We need to keep 80% of fossil fuels in the ground. There is an alternative, low carbon future creating jobs in Sheffield City Region and better health for all. Campaign with us to encourage our pension authorities to divest from fossil fuel, protect our Peak District from fracking and press for a large scale, local insulation scheme to create jobs and reduce fuel poverty.

Volunteers needed

Sheffield Climate Alliance is a volunteer-led organisation. We are always keen for more volunteers to join our friendly network. Help with fundraising, events, campaigning action and communications always welcome.
