Spectacle Theatre Ltd
Our community are children, young people, the elderly and families that support them. Our core community live in Rhondda Cynon Taff. Our outreach work delivered in partnership extends across South Wales. We seek to engage people at risk, people with complex needs or struggling with trauma. We support carers and the cared for. The people we work with and for, are often isolated and lonely , disadvantaged, marginalised , lack opportunity and discriminated against. They live with some of the worst health inequalities in Wales. ( Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation2019 ) . Following Covid 19, and in discussion with our community, we provide online services.
Spectacle Theatre established to promote education using theatre. Based in the Rhondda Valley , it works in Welsh and English, using simple participatory techniques such as sharing stories to reach out. We then support people to explore their concerns . The outcomes are they better understand themselves and others. They discover their own strengths and come up with their own answers.
We value inclusivity. Our projects meet individual and group need. Provide lasting benefits in resilience , social interaction and learning. We focus on what people can do - not what they cannot . We support our community to lead in the design and development of projects . We set up safe accessible community spaces for activity to happen. We measure impact and identify gaps in provision.
