Streetwise works with vulnerable young people aged 11 - 25 years who struggle with a range of issues including; isolation, loneliness, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, trauma, abuse, family breakdown, self harm, anger, debt, employment and poverty. We offer a range of 'wrap around' services that are designed to educate and enable young people to realise their potential, identify their own solutions and achieve their goals. Our main activities are; information/advice drop-ins 4 afternoons per week, counselling and mental health support 6 days/evenings per week, detached street work 4 evening/afternoons per week, outreach youth work x 2 days; relationship and sexual health clinics (CASH) 3 afternoons weekly; social action projects weekly, targeted group work 2 evenings per week and young people’s volunteering opportunities weekly. Workers provide accurate information, explore and identify solutions, develop awareness and coping mechanisms, empowering young people to make informed lifestyle choices, feel confident, safe and become independent young adults.
