The Suffolk Coalition of Disabled People (SCODP) is an inclusive umbrella organisation, led by disabled people and their member groups. The Suffolk Coalition of Disabled People is a central point of contact for all disabled people and user-led organisations in Suffolk. This includes people with mental health conditions, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, cancer and any other long term health condition or impairment.
Why the community needs usTo give disabled people a strong and united independent and organised Suffolk voice. To empower disabled people to campaign on disabled issues locally, regionally and nationally. To create a central point of contact for disabled user-led organisations in Suffolk and to support these organisations. To be a source of up to date information on disabled issues.
Our impact on the communityWe are helping to shape changes for disabled people in Suffolk. We are Suffolk County Council's preferred partner to work around disability. Outcomes can be measured in the way that they are changing their working practices.
