This is what we do for young people:-
There's nothing more thrilling or challenging than being on the water when young. Sailing, power boating, rowing or paddle sport help young people aged 10-18 years from all backgrounds and with all abilities develop their potential. By helping young people to experience adventure, personally develop and gain valuable qualifications along the way Sea Cadets offers an environment to find new confidence inspiration and develop life skills, like team work and independence through nautical adventure.
Why the community needs us
We offer an amazing meeting place for youngsters 10-18. Adult volunteers acting as good role models challenge, inspire and mentor youngsters based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy, giving them confidence and self discipline. This is achieved through nautical adventure to develop young leaders with a good understanding of their worth, a sense of responsibility and pride in the local community is their legacy.
Our impact on the community
Our cadets are a credit to the community, confident youngsters who give back. The impact that sea cadets has, makes them very employable and responsible. The cadets have fun and make lifelong friends and learn valuable skills with opportunities such as Engineering BTEC's, Duke of Edinburgh Award. The emphasis on water teaches rowing, canoeing and sailing and power boating with opportunity for foreign exchange visits and offshore sailing. The opportunity is there for a great time.
