Imagine what it is like to wake up cold, tired, stiff, hungry, frightened, depressed, lonely and to know that the day ahead will bring nothing to look forward, just the relentless search for the basic necessities. It has often been said that the most basic human needs are food, water, clothing, shelter, and a safe place to sleep.

The homeless struggle with all of these every day.

There are three main types of homeless people:
  • Street homeless which is where people are sleeping rough on the streets where they can. Government and other agencies estimate that in 2019  over 4200 people were sleeping rough each night.
  • Homeless in Temporary Accommodation. It is estimated that 253,000 people in England are homeless and living in temporary accommodation during the pandemic.
  • Hidden Homeless it is thought that 62% of single homeless people are actually ‘hidden homeless’. This means they may be sofa surfing, living in squats or unsecured accommodation and they don’t show up in the Government statistics.Homelessness isn’t just in London and is a problem affecting nearly every town and city in the country.

The Reasons for Homelessness.
The most common reason for homelessness is due to relationship breakdown. For each individual the reasons and problems are often complex.

The ongoing crisis which is causing many more people to be vulnerable and living on the edge , and the spiral of job losses , relationship break downs and people on low incomes and the poverty lines, with the increase of inflation and food prices etc is just making the problems worse and deeper.

What We do
We continue to provide our outreach work and food kitchens and deliver food and emergency parcels to provide a vital link and communication for these people , we aim to grow our operation into a walk in centre and cafe for the homeless and vulnerable , also to deliver food and catering by ways of a food and support truck that provides a great outreach and vital communication for those who are vulnerable and in need and can reach many areas.

We don’t judge, we just try and make sure people are safe and have had something to eat and drink as a first stage.
