Swan exists to relieve need and hardship amongst people in Bath and North East Somerset and surrounding areas by providing a range of advice, information and access services. Since 2001 Swan has been running a volunteer transport service and advising people on their transport needs to find the best individual option for passengers. Swan Transport primarily works with people who are on low income and unable to use conventional public transport.
Why the community needs us
Reducing isolation and improving health and well being which can enable people to be more actively involved in their communities. Our Award winning friendly team of volunteer drivers give their time and their vehicles to get people to Health and Social activities. We take passengers to all of the Bath Hospitals and Paulton Hospital as well as doctors, dentist and opticians. We take passengers to social and support clubs, leisure activities, visiting friends or relatives and to go shopping.
Our impact on the community
In our last transport survey 81% of respondents said we improved their health, well being and quality of life. Last year we made over 4,000 journeys to enable our clients to participate in their communities. We help people connect to others and find a stress free solution to their transport needs.
