We focus on building mutually beneficial partnerships between groups and organisations in the community. In support of this, we run various events and projects, including: Tai Chi and Art Club for over 50's, Foodbank, Digital Inclusion support, cooking and gardening courses and various annual events including Picnic in the Park which attracts over 1000 people. There are over 170 member groups who use the Centre on a regular basis and we also have other organisations based in the Centre who are working within the local community, including: Amicus, Khaas and Herbalists without Borders.

Why the community needs us
St Werburghs Community Centre is a very busy and accessible community resource for the communities of East Bristol, and Communities of Interest city wide. The centre offers office space for voluntary organisations who also work within local communities, and a wide range of meeting rooms, event spaces and facilities. The centre hosts social, cultural, educational, support and advice services. The centre offers membership to charities, individuals, groups and organisations who provide services locally.

Our impact on the community
We have shown our flexibility over 50 years by adapting to changes and responding to the needs of new communities. We are community-led & have the benefit of being run by experienced people with a great passion for the local community. The Centre caters for a wide range of activities including: classes for all ages, martial arts, training, support and advice for various groups. Cultural events, weddings, markets, fundraising, parties, faith groups and celebrations keep the Centre busy at weekends. With footfall of over 80,000 per annum we are the local Vaccinations centre, Elections place and a Welcoming Hub with open access Reception and Signposting services available 7 days per week. All of our projects and services promote social wellbeing, better mental health and increased economic and digital inclusion. We also strive to encourage sustainable living and to strengthen community cohesion in Ashley, Easton and Lawrence Hill.
