Providing quality football for children of all abilities in Saffron Walden and the surrounding area
Formed from a merger of Spartak 78 YSC and Saffron Walden Town Youth FC in 2018, Saffron Walden Community Football Club has grown and grown. We are a registered Charity (number 801764) and run by volunteers. All subscriptions go towards providing quality football for our members and supporting the qualification of our coaches. Our objective is simple; to provide high quality football to all children in Saffron Walden and the surrounding areas regardless of ability. Our cohort of over 120 coaches are all CRB checked, have Safeguarding Children and First Aid qualifications and every team has at least one FA Qualified Level 1 coach. Most have more. Our new Soccability initiative has launched with great success enabling disabled children to fulfill their footballing ambitions.
Why the community needs usOur impact on the communityWith over 600 players, over 120 coaches and fielding 45 league teams in season 2019-20, our reach is wide. We have found success on the pitch and our teams regularly compete and are successful in league and cup competitions. Our success is measured by more than silverware though - we believe our greatest strength lies in our inclusivity measured by the number of children playing and enjoying football delivered by dedicated and qualified coaches.
