Tailor Ed Foundation teaches essential daily living skills to children with autism.
Tailor Ed Foundation (SCO39246) is a charity established in 2008. It was set up to teach daily living skills to children with autism. We work with families living in the city of Edinburgh with a child with autism aged between 3 and 12 years old. We are funded by the Big Lottery, therefore our services are available to families for free.
Why the community needs usTailor Ed wants all families with a child with autism, regardless of background, ethnicity and financial circumstances to be able to teach their own child the skills they need for life and for parents to feel supported and equipped for the unique challenges that autism can bring so their whole family can progress and enjoy life.
Our impact on the communityParents of children with autism want, like all parents, to teach their child essential life skills that most people take for granted. They want to toilet train them and show them how to tie their laces, ride a bike and wash their hair. But teaching a child with autism can be a challenge due to the unique way they think and learn. At Tailor Ed we bring the teaching expertise and experience necessary to the family home; we provide work and support to empower parents.
