Hollybush Conservation Centre is part of The Conservation Volunteers, the national volunteering charity that creates a more sustainable future by inspiring people and improving places. At Hollybush, we provide a wide range of practical environmental activities for adults and young people, to help build confidence and gain employment. Everyone is welcome to get involved, through formal and informal training opportunities or by volunteering and taking part in social activities. Join in, feel good!

Why the community needs us
Hollybush reaches out to the most vulnerable members of the local community, including those living with mental health issues, learning disabilities and sensory impairment. We encourage people to regain confidence, learn new skills and work towards fulfilling their potential. Individuals are supported by mentoring and training throughout their time at Hollybush. Projects run in school grounds, countryside sites, from pocket parks to the Pennine Moors and within the gardens at Hollybush.

Our impact on the community
Hollybush works with over 600 adults each year. Each week the Centre runs around 20 activity sessions with up to 70 people on any day. Hollybush is an inclusive centre not targeted at any particular group, and the supportive atmosphere is much valued by volunteers. Hollybush is a well-used green place, a classroom, a workshop, a meeting place and a sanctuary. It is as good for people as it is good for wildlife. PLEASE see the current appeal TBC soon
