Help us help young people in Tendring

At Teen Talk we offer a free and confidential information and support service for young people aged 11-25 years in Tendring, Essex. We can help a young person with any issue they feel stuck with from bullying, stress and relationships to anger, bereavement and anxiety. Best of all, because we don't have any time restrictions and you don't need an appointment to see us, a young person can just drop in for support right when they need it.

Why the community needs us

Tendring can be a really difficult place for young people to live. There's not much for them to do, there are limited training and job opportunities and travel out of town can be really expensive. Often, when we first see a young person, they feel trapped, low, and unsure of where to turn. We're the only organisation in Tendring offering immediate access to information, support and activities to empower a young person overcome the difficulties they face and make positive changes in their lives.

Our impact on the community

On average, we support almost 1000 young people and their families in Tendring every year and the demand for our services continues to grow. Anxiety, anger, bullying, depression, relationships and stress are the most common issues young people ask us for help with. By simply providing someone to talk to and strategies to try, young people make vast changes in their lives. For the young person this can mean improved confidence, relationships, emotional wellbeing and a better quality of life.

Volunteers needed

H.I.Y.A (Harwich Inspired Youth Action) is a group of like minded volunteers, aged 11-21 in Harwich and the surrounding areas, who want to make a difference and change the image of young people in their communities. Events and community projects are organised and carried out by the young people who gain skills in planning, running meetings, organising events, team work, communication and confidence building.
