The Thames Chase Trust aims to make the Thames Chase Community Forest an inspirational example of landscape regeneration through cost effective environmental improvements that changes lives and demonstrates these values through exemplar community led management at the Thames Chase Forest Centre.
Why the community needs us
Since 1990, we have planted over 2 million trees across the Essex/East London landscape. Alongside partners in the area, such as councils and charities, we ensure that the natural environment is restored and regenerated to secure its value as an important green space on the edge of London. The Thames Chase Community Forest covers 40 square miles between Brentwood and Ockendon, through Havering and into Barking and Dagenham.
Our impact on the community
Over 650,000 people live in and around the Community Forest. With over 100,000 visitors annually to the Thames Chase Forest Centre, and hundreds of thousands more visits to the other sites in the Forest, we work to improve the landscape - and people's access to the environment - throughout the region.
