At The Catalyst Collective, we believe mentoring can be a powerful intervention in the lives of young Black women.
Since 2021, we’ve recruited, trained and supported professional Black women to mentor Black girls. Alongside mentoring, we deliver careers programmes and insight days that open doors to professional worlds many young people are rarely invited into.
We know that an excellent mentor can change a young person’s trajectory, challenging their thinking, expanding their horizons, and encouraging them to go further than they imagined possible.
The Catalyst Collective began in December 2020 as a simple idea: what if every Black girl had access to a mentor who truly understood her?
In January 2021, we launched our first pilot cohort with just six mentoring pairs. Five years on, we’ve just matched our 125th mentoring match.
At the heart of our approach is joy, authenticity and building a supportive community of Black women who learn from, challenge and uplift one another.
As we turn five, we’re asking our community to help us expand our reach through regular monthly donations of £5, £10 or £25. Your support helps us protect the quality and depth of our work for the next five years and beyond.
