The Hospital Broadasting Service (HBS) is Glasgow's longest operating radio service, first going on-air on Christmas Day 1970.
Programmes heavily focus on playing record requests for patients, with more than 30 hours of request shows every week. The station has lots of general and specialist music shows too and provides information about services which the patient may benefit from while in hospital or once they have been discharged.
The team running HBS are all volunteers, so receive no financal reward for their efforts, they are also an award-winning team having picked up trophies for their work at every one of the last 10 annual awards ceremonies.
