Refugees have fled war and persecution in their own land. We have offered advocacy, support, and daily activities to refugees in Newport since 2008, through English classes, football, women's exercise class, community lunch, drop in games sessions, trips and bike repair and recycling. We take a holistic approach to improving the wellbeing of refugees who have fled war and persecution in their own land.
Why the community needs us
Our project enables refugees to fully participate in life in our city, gaining access to employment, accommodation and leisure activities
Our impact on the community
We see 40 people each day from refugee communities accessing our services - but we prefer to count the smiles and laughter !
We run 2 temporary supported accommodation properties for newly granted single male refugees who would otherwise be homeless, and also a social enterprise providing secure bike storage and bike repair services.
