We provide emergency food provision to those experiencing financial hardship in North Tyneside.
Founded in 2012, The Bay Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to individuals or families experiencing financial crisis. This crisis may be bought about by low income, bereavement, benefit delay, redundancy, an unexpected bill or illness.
People can be referred to us by social services, doctors, citizen advice bureau, schools or other agencies. We work with local people and businesses to provide both fresh and tinned food along with toiletries and baby's food/ nappies if needed.
We provide an average of 40 emergency food parcels to people in North Tyneside each day. Alongisde this we support a range of school breakfast clubs and run a food waste reduction programme.
