We repair and rehome bicycles within our community through inclusive and empowering projects.
Together, with your support, we can give people freedom and self-reliance by providing them safe refurbished bikes and the skills to maintain them.
Why the community needs us
We take donations of unwanted bikes, repair them with the help of our volunteers, and rehome them with people across Bristol who desperately need access to affordable transport.
"The bike was the one thing that saved me. For the first time in many years I wanted to be around people. The bike is my only means of getting around. My life has improved so much for the better." - Vicky, Earn-a-Bike recipient
We've empowered over 2,700 people to become independently mobile through our Earn-a-Bike programmes. All participants take part in a one-to-one workshop to learn basic bike maintenance and have a bike, lock and lights to take away at the end of it.
We also run a free weekly repair session to ensure the bikes we give out are maintained and we have programmes for people who are socially isolated and young people.
“At Creative Youth Network we regularly work with Bristol Bike project, referring young people onto the courses to help them gain skills and acquire a bike or fix their current one. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful and have an amazing ability to connect with young people. The work they do in the community is simply amazing!” - Kate Walker, Creative Youth Network
