The Butterfly Hospice cares for people with life limiting illnesses. Patients are admitted for the relief of difficult symptoms, along with psychological social or spiritual support and rehabilitation. The hospice provides care for people at the end of life, when care cannot be given in any other setting, and the patient chooses to come to the hospice. Out Inpatient Palliative Care Unit occupies the majority of our building.

Why the community needs us

The Butterfly Hospice provides greater choice and access for the communities that we serve. Those who require end of life care are now able to benefit from the in-patient unit at the Hospice and be close to their families and friends. Prior to the Hospice opening patients would have to travel to Lincoln and this caused both patients and families / friends great stress because of the distance that their loved one was from their own home.

Our impact on the community

The Hospice provides palliative and end of life care to those communities within and around Boston and Skegness and the surrounding coastal area. while clinical care is funded by the NHS, the Butterfly Hospice charity needs to raise £12,600 each week to provide all of the free care services to our communities. The funding provided through Localgiving will go directly to providing in-patient care to those who need it.
