The Jonas Centre is a Christian residential centre and holiday venue. Our vision is people knowing God more, so we welcome all to share in a beautiful place, set aside for resting, seeking and engaging with God. Guests enjoy holiday retreats, group residentials and respite breaks. Most weekends and school holidays, churches and Christian ministries make use of the Centre for conferences and getaways.
About the site
From the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, we provide affordable accommodation in self-catering log cabins. Cabins sleep up to five and are available for single bookings or multi-cabin group bookings. There are twelve cabins altogether. For groups, our converted stone barn is a flexible space for meeting and eating.
Why are we fundraising?
Jonas Centre is operated by the Jonas Charitable Trust. All aspects of the life of the Centre depend on the generous support of people who believe in our vision: people knowing God more through residential Christian ministry.
We fundraise around a third of our income, so that we can keep our prices low for Churches and Christian ministries. In fact, we want all our guests to enjoy our cosy cabins at well below commercial rates.
Supporters contribute to everything from staff salaries, maintenance costs and site development, to hosting Christian retreats and subsidising ‘Jonas Respites’ breaks.
Jonas Respites is a sheme that makes it possible for families and individuals in difficult circumstances to get away, without the financial barrier. On a referral basis, holidays are available at 50% off, and through generous support, we cover the rest.
