The Peterborough School aims to promote high standards of learning, in a stimulating and creative environment, where each pupil reaches or exceeds his or her academic potential and is equipped, through rich experiences and new technologies, to adapt to an ever changing world. Every member of the community is valued and cared for and the spiritual and moral foundations are laid, which allow each person to pursue a confident and successful life, while contributing positively to society.
Why the community needs usWe offer a valuable addition to the provision of education in the City. Bursaries and Scholarships enable pupils to be educated at the School and in 2010/11 almost a quarter of all pupiils benefited. We strive to optimise the use of our cultural and sporting facilities and aim to be an integral part of the local community. We organise subject days and sporting events involving many local schools and our pupils take part in Citizenship activities. We fundraise to benefit other local charities
Our impact on the communityOur facilities are used by local groups including St.John's, Churchill Camps and amateur theatre groups. Sports facilities are an asset and local schools have attended Maths and Science days and lectures given by prominant people. Recent fundraising has provided over £2100 to Riding for the Disabled and annually about £10000 is donated to charities nominated by pupils. Pupils performed at the opening of the City Hospital.
