We aim to empower others to identify their own way forward in life and to discover ways to reach their full potential. We hope to encourage independence rather than dependence. Our service offers route guidance and signposting but we never direct. We hope to reach out to people of all ages who are disadvantaged and living on the edge of community without access to other supporting services by offering outreach listening services, 1-1 and group counselling and listening skills courses.
Why the community needs usPeople will find themselves heard, feel part of a community and feel less isolated. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome all.
Our impact on the communityIf people learn to feel trust in our small community they could then find the confidence to engage with their wider community, resulting in stronger communities. Our service aims to facilitate personal development. By gaining confidence people will feel more able to engage with education and work. If people are helped to make more healthy choices for themselves this results in them changing behaviours which previously would have a negative impact on themselves, others and the wider community.
We have a wide variety of roles on offer ranging from 'welcomers' who offer cups of tea and coffee to Directors who have some relevant professional or personal experience to help run the service.
