The Well is a place where no one is a stranger twice - it's a place where friendships are made and relationships are built. Coming into The Well is like coming into someone's home. The vast majority of people come for help of one form or another, but many also come simply for a chat or to read the newspaper. All are offered a cup of tea, all are treated with respect.
Why the community needs usThe Well is at the heart of the most diverse community in Scotland, it is easily accessible to all. Not only do we practically help those who come to The Well, we provide opportunity for building relationships between people from all sorts of backgrounds - who might not otherwise meet.
Our impact on the communityWe know that over 1000 individuals access the various activities of The Well, and over a year we deal with around 8000 enquiries. At least 60 families attend our Mother & Toddler Group, circa 90 people benefit from our ESOL classes, and around 40 people have learnt IT skills. About 20 women regularly attend our craft group. All of this work is supported with the help of 35 church volunteers.
