Sheffield | Community Support & Development
We run the Village Hall, Youth Centre, Bowls Club and football field which has served as a focus for the community, enabling numerous groups such as the Luncheon Club for the elderly, Mothers and Toddlers, Karate, Boot Camp and Dance clubs, the History group, the Thurgoland Thespians and many sports groups to thrive. Thurgoland Out of School Club uses the Youth Centre daily, providing out of school care and the facilities are widely used weekly and for our annual village Fun Day.
Why the community needs usThurgoland is a isolated rural village but with an active thriving community - our Village Hall acts as a focus for regular and one off activities for all. Our recent refurbishment project has been very successful in upgrading our indoor facilities and we now aim to refurbish our rather run down tennis court to provide multi sport equipment with upgraded play surface and fencing, enabling everyone to be more active with obvious health and enjoyment benefits.
Our impact on the communityPlease help us by making either a single £10 donation or better still a monthly £10 standing order (with gift aid) which will be matched pound for pound. This will really help us transform the run down tennis court into an exciting multi sport court open to all.
