The Joseph Cowen Centre is a drop-in wellbeing hub for people experiencing homelessness, rough sleeping and social exclusion, managed by Tyne Housing
Your donation will go towards supporting our Joseph Cowen Centre, a drop-in wellbeing hub for people experiencing homelessness (including those who are rough sleeping), social and financial exclusion, those with limited access to mainstream services and the basic necessities most of us take for granted. The Centre operates 6 days a week, is located in Byker, Newcastle, and is managed by Tyne Housing.
The Centre is a lifeline for some; something as simple as access to free hot refreshments, a shower in a safe welcoming space and a listening ear, can make a world of difference.
Tyne Housing has provided support, emergency/supported housing, healthcare and more to some of the North East's most vulnerable people since 1973. Unlike our housing services, the Joseph Cowen Centre is heavily reliant on donations to pay for snacks/food, warm clothing, toiletries, sanitary products and wellbeing activities. Last year, we helped over 900 people, and with your support we can help more!
Please read the Joseph Cowen Social Value Report, carried out in 2023, which demonstrates the impact the service has on people experiencing homelessness
Please donate as much, or as little, as you can to help us to put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas.
