The community benefit from opportunities to engage with artists and learn about their practices; demonstrations, classes, talks and other educational activities. Chichester and West Sussex will benefit from a dynamic community of successful professional artists/craftspeople in Chichester, that will attract creative talent and help retain graduates.
Our impact on the communityIn 2007 UAT were successful in ensuring the S106 planning document for the Graylingwell redevelopment included a large studio building for 40 artists, with workshops, education space and gallery; move in around 2017. In 2010 UAT raised £11,500 to open UNITY STUDIOS, where 10-11 artists have studios, exhibited, undertaken talks, and start a mentoring programme. UAT are also behind CH-ART artists club, a networking/training event for local creatives in partnership with Pallant House Gallery.
