The Umbrella Fair Organisation is a Climate Emergency Action Hub, we focus on our community and the environment, and we have being doing this work over the past 17 years. The majority of our work is delivered by our passionate volunteers, local people who want the same thing climate and social justice.

Each year we hold a festive open house for anyone within our community, whether someone is isolated or not, an individual or a family - its open to everyone. On the 23rd/24th December we prepare the food, with and for our community. Around 3pm on the 25th, we serve a vegan roast free of charge and enjoy the company of others in our warm and welcoming space. The aim of Umbrella has always been to develop community co-operation and promote sustainable living for all people within Northampton, particularly those living around the Racecourse. Umbrella is best known for our annual festival of music, art, poetry, dance, spoken word and education. We can be found throughout the year on the ground floor of the Racecourse Pavilion, running an eclectic mix of music and arts events, a plant-based café and our bicycle recycle project. We also run return to work programmes helping people rebuild their confidence and skills. Throughout the year we provide a safe space and support to people who are seeking sanctuary, encouragement or information to navigate this failing system.
