Under the Stars is an arts and events charity for people with learning disabilities. We believe in their talent and creativity, and most of all we believe in them.
Our mission
Our mission
- We use the power of creativity and the performing arts to enhance the lives of people with learning disabilities and/or autism
- People with learning disabilities and/or autism have the chance to shine and live creative, rich, and meaningful lives
- To raise awareness of the talent and potential of people with learning disabilities (and or autism)
- To curate powerful, meaningful performances and events for people with learning disabilities (and or autism)
- To facilitate people with learning disabilities (and or autism) to become independent artists and performers
- Empowerment – Our artists feel recognised and valued as artists and people
- Quality – Ourartists deserve the best from us including expert tuition, fantastic performance opportunities and the use of our industry standard equipment
- Challenge –We love to broaden the experiences of the artists we work with and encourage trying new and untested ideas, writing original material or adapting existing material
- Engagement – Enjoyment and participation is at the heart of everything we do
- Creativity – Our artists feel empowered to create and share unique, original, outstanding art about the issues that matter to them
