Given the opportunity young people can not only make change for themselves but other people in their community. We aim to raise £20,200 by walking 2020 miles & investing it in 8 individuals & 2 organisations that will be nominated throughout the year. The individuals will be offered a mentor who will support their business idea & will have be given seed funding for their idea. The organisations will be given funding & access to people successful in their field to provide inspiration & hope.

Why they need our service

We will be funding young people who have social action or entrepreneurial projects or organisations that support young people to become financially literate, entrepreneurial or active in their communities. Young people in the most disadvantaged communities do not have the networks that enable access to the information or support required to succeed. Investment decisions are influenced by unconscious or conscious bias and therefore black people are less likely to be able to get a start up loans.

Plan and expected results

8 young entrepreneurs will have improved financial and business planning skills and will have produced Business Plans and CVs 48 young people will have improved financial literacy 20 greater understanding of how to lobby and campaign effectively 48 young people will feel more confident and have greater focus 48 young people will have greater understanding of financial and political systems 48 young people will have improved presentation and interpersonal skills
