Vale of Clwyd Mind (VOCM) is affiliated to National Mind, the leading mental health charity in both Wales and England. We were established in 1979 and since that time we have worked with and supported numerous individuals experiencing the widest range of mental distress. This has been achieved through housing, social opportunities, rural outreach and training projects. VOCM has built up a matchless reputation in North Wales as a first class service user informed provider of services.
Why the community needs usWe offer county-wide services designed for, and often delivered by, people who have lived experience of mental health problems and we have a number of support and social groups in and around the Denbighshire area, offering a wide range of activities for those who would like to get involved. From playing musical instruments to learning how to set up your own Facebook page or just the chance to have a cup of tea and a chat with a friendly face.
Our impact on the communityFor people, mental health is a resource, which enables them to realise their intellectual and emotional potential and to find and fulfil their roles in all aspects of every day life. For communities, the good mental health of people contributes to prosperity, solidarity and social justice. With support, we can make sure that no-one has to face a mental health problem alone.
