The Veterans' Garage is a ground-breaking initiative which resulted from a personal struggle adapting from a military to civilian lifestyle, whilst struggling with the trauma of post-traumatic stress disorder. Based at city Airport in Eccles, Manchester, we have already transformed the first floor centre into a business hub and café with meeting/education and therapy rooms. Our next stage is to renovate the terminal buildings into a classic car and motorcycle restoration garage, restaurant etc

Transform the disused buildings into a dedicated space for improving skills and employment. Reduce isolation and build community cohesion by holding family events and large music events. We also hold classic car and motorcycle days to raise funds for the charity. VG gives people a real sense of community and belonging. Often individuals feel disconnected from their families and friends and our initiative will help to forge new relationships, develop new interests and reduce isolation.

Our charity is currently led by professionals who dedicate their time for free. Our first floor renovations was a result of in-kind support from local tradesmen who donated their time or tools/materials for free. With an army of volunteers, the first floor business centre was renovated in March 2018. Our veterans have mentored 20 young people who have been excluded from school. 150 therapy sessions attended, 30 volunteers and within the last 6 months, 8 people have moved into employment.
