Vineyard Compassion provides people with practical, emotional & financial support at their crisis point of need & empowers them to tackle root cause of poverty
The charity, established in 2012, offers a holistic approach to tackling poverty and its underlying root causes in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. Vineyard Compassion supports those who are disadvantaged, socially excluded or suffering financially due to low income, benefits or unemployment.
Why the community needs us
Vineyard Compassion's holistic approach to tackle poverty, as evidenced in its 20 projects above, in collaboration and partnership with around 130 statutory agencies and community/voluntary organisations (Family Support Hub, and Emotional Health and Wellbeing Hub) makes this organisation truly unique.
Our impact on the community
Vineyard Compassion provides over 16,000 support sessions to individuals/families annually and during 2022 were effective in meeting the needs below of the Causeway Coast and Glens community- Distributed 28,305 emergency meals to local families in need through foodbank- Provided food to 3145 individuals - Provided 929 counselling sessions to 224 clients - Supported 254 people through our Reset social supermarket - Gave 176 people emergency clothing through the Wear House clothing bank - Provided volunteer work opportunities to 62 people through our Link logs social enterprise - Supported 86 client families through our CAP debt centre - Housed 26 residents in our supported accommodation - Gave out 500 Hampers at Christmas
