Garden Room extension

All existing library groups would have a space to meet and new groups will be set up offering a range of health and well being opportunities. Current activities include Top Time social group, talks and activities for older people, Girls Group (self-esteem & confidence), social group, dance workshops for children and teens, Sharing stories for adults with disabilities, boxing fitness, Wordplay - Storymakers, Messy Play and baby bounce & Tot rock, Singing group, community choir, Boccia & Kurling.

Why they need our service

The library has run out of space due to all the popular activities on offer, plus the need to hire out existing space. We need more space for community use in the library as our current rooms are regularly hired and fully booked. The garden room would become the space for community activities for people of all ages and would not be hired out, ensuring the space is always available for the community.

Plan and expected results

There will always be a space to offer community activities, plus space for quiet study, art & well being activities. The space will be created for the community to use for activities they request and will be a warm, friendly and safe space bringing garden life indoors. The library will be able to offer much more to the local community reaching more people of all ages
