The Warren is the only youth facility in Hatch Warren & Beggarwood & runs weekly activity sessions that engage young people from 10 to 17 years (year six +) giving them a secure base, sense of purpose and routine and encourage them to become active members of the community. All sessions are drop in giving opportunities to all.We encourage young people of all abilities to get involved in sport; challenging them to do their best, work as a team & raise confidence in their skills.

The most visible benefit of the Warren is the creation of a sense of ownership and belonging within a community with the young people(yp) building positive relationships between young and old. The obvious reduction in the number of yp hanging around the streets has increased the perception of the yp with confidence in the minds of the older generation.It has also reduced the levels of anti social behaviour, increasing community cohesion. Our local Beat officer has confirmed that we have made a significant difference in the community with antisocial behaviour dropping by 25 per cent through the summer when over 400 young people registered through Streetz. Additionally we have a targeted Detached Programme, with our youth workers meeting young people where they are at, as some have difficulties with more formal groups and are unable to settle in a group with organised activities.
