Warts and All Theatre exists to inspire and encourage children and young people to harness their creativity through performing arts. We do this through weekly sessions, where young people develop their confidence, sense of self, and wellbeing.
We are more determined than even to support children and young people, to harness their creativity, discover their super powers and speak their truth. Especially those who need it most.
We are ambitious and strive for excellence in all that we do but we're only interested in theatre that everyone can get involved in.
Why the community needs us
We provide unique opportunities to help participants build their confidence, self-esteem and improve their well-being through a range of theatre arts activity. We provide weekly sessions, one off workshops and community projects for audiences to access high quality theatre in their local area, enriching their lives and building stronger communities.
34% of the participants and audiences that attended Warts and All events were from the least culturally engaged audience groups, people who have limited access to arts and culture due to their personal, social and economic circumstances. We belief everyone deserves the opportunity to unleash their inner creativity and speak their truth.
Our impact on the community
Over the last 5 years we have reached a total 14,656 participants over 2,688 individual sessions. Across this activity we have awarded £36,820 of bursaries to 648 participants, enabling as many people as possible to access Warts and All Theatre activity.
