Watford Palace Theatre has been at the creative heart of Watford since 1908. In our beautiful Grade II 600 seat Edwardian theatre, with modern and accessible facilities, we offer memorable and high quality experiences for tens of thousands of guests each year.
We make and share great stories that entertain, provoke and inspire on our stage and in our streets : from drama to musicals, from dance to family shows, from diverse stand-up to our much-loved pantomime.
We are proud to celebrate and develop creativity and skill within our community and do so by offering support and a platform to our young and talented, emerging local artists.
Our locally produced shows and our home grown talent have toured nationally and internationally, been seen on BBC iPlayer, won awards and transferred to the West End.
Why the community needs us
We offer opportunities to take part in what we do with a comprehensive range of projects. We engage with schools, teachers, young people and community groups of all ages and backgrounds in Watford and the surrounding region. Engaging with theatre changes lives
COVID-19
Despite the easing of some of the restrictions on live theatre, it is unfortunately not yet viable for Watford Palace Theatre to re-open . All of what we do costs money and whilst our doors are closed because of the pandemic we have no money coming in. We have received a lifeline from the Government but that help is temporary and short-lived. We are incredibly grateful for all the support and donations we have received from our community so far, and we are working hard to build our resilience for the future BUT we still need support.
Every donation makes a big difference. Thank you for your support.
We look forward to seeing you back in our beautiful theatre as soon as it is safe for us to do so.
