Milton Keynes | Community Support & Development
To enable girls in Rainbows (aged 5-7), Brownies (aged 7-10), Guides (aged 10-14) and Senior Section (aged 14-25) to participate in a variety of activities such as abseiling, canoeing, crafts, cooking, working towards challenge badges and community projects. The girls particularly enjoy visits and residential experiences. Girlguiding is inclusive and promotes independence confidence, leadership skills, caring and sharing attributes. We serve West Bletchley and Milton Keynes MK4 + MK5 postcodes.
Why the community needs usThe skills that Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Young Leaders and Adult Leaders develop by being part of West Bletchley District contributes positively to the local community. Not only do the individuals gain valuable interpersonal and life skills such as leadership, caring for others and self-determination but the wider community benefits from the promotion of responsible citizens of the future. All members get involved in a number of worthwhile charitable events to support other organisations.
Our impact on the communityWest Bletchley District Girlguiding is self financing run by a dedicated leadership team of volunteers. Additional funding will enable us to subsidise visits and camps & holidays for the girls who would not be able to attend without additional help. We also support any member facing financial hardship. We would like to set up more Units to provide every girl that wants to join a place in a local Rainbow, Brownie, Guide or Senior Section Group. This can only be achieved with additional volunteers
